BUSINESS VISAS
Considered one of the easiest places in the world to do business, Australia offers a wide range of visa options for people who want to make short business trips, establish a business, manage a new or existing business, or invest here.
There are two visa pathways – temporary and permanent visa arrangements.
- TEMPORARY PATHWAY : BUSINESS INNOVATION & INVESTMENT PROVISIONAL VISA (SUBCLASS 188)
This category is suitable for applicants who have business skills and are keen to set up and manage a new or existing business in Australia. Visas granted under this category are valid for 4 years. There are five visa streams under this category.
- PERMANENT PATHWAY : BUSINESS INNOVATION & INVESTMENT PERMANENT VISA (SUBCLASS 888)
This category is suitable for applicants who want to continue their entrepreneurial and business activities in Australia permanently. Applicants can apply for these visas if they have previously held Business Innovation & Investment Provisional visa before. There are five visa streams under this category – one for each stream in the provisional pathway.

Business Innovation & Investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188)- Business Innovation Stream
Under this temporary visa, people with business skills are allowed to operate a new or existing business in Australia
Business Innovation & Investment Permanent Visa (Subclass 888)
Business Innovation Stream
This visa allows existing holders of the Business Innovation and investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188) to continue operating their business in Australia permanently
Business Innovation & Investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188) Investor Stream
Under this temporary visa, applicants are required to invest AUD 1.5 million in an Australian state or territory and maintain business and investment activity in Australia
Business Innovation & Investment Permanent Visa (subclass 888)
Investor Stream
Under this visa, holders of the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the (subclass 188) in the Investor stream can continue their investment activities
and live in Australia permanently
Business Innovation & Investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188) Significant Investor Stream
This temporary visa is suitable for applicants who are able to invest AUD 5 million in Australian investments that meet certain requirements and maintain business and investment activity in Australia
Business Innovation & Investment Permanent Visa (subclass 888)
Significant Investor Stream
This visa allows holders of the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Significant Investor stream continue their investment activities and live in Australia permanently
Business Innovation & Investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188) Premium Investor Stream
Under this visa, applicants who have been nominated by Austrade and can invest AUD15 million in Australia are allowed to operate a business or carry out investment activities here
Business Innovation & Investment Permanent Visa (subclass 888)
Premium Investor Stream
Under this visa, holders of the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Premium Investor stream are allowed to continue their investment activities and live in Australia indefinitely
Business Innovation & Investment Provisional Visa (subclass 188) – Entrepreneur Stream
This temporary visa allows entrepreneurs to carry out business activities in Australia and live in Australia for up to 4 years and 3 months
Business Innovation & Investment Permanent Visa (Subclass 888)
Entrepreneur Stream
Existing holders of a a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) in the Entrepreneur stream are eligible for this visa. It allows applicants to continue their entrepreneur activities in Australia and live here permanently.
