Developed by the EEA (Engineering Education Australia), the Professional Year Program is designed to aid international engineering graduates to become familiar with the Australian workplace and further develop their employability skills.

Eligibility requirements
You must have:
  • have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate engineering degree from an Australia university.
  • be a 485 Temporary graduate visa holder with a minimum of 12 months validity or have applied for one.
  • demonstrated proficiency in English through an overall score of 6 in IELTS with a minimum score of 5 in all four components OR a minimum overall score of 50 in PTE (Academic) with a minimum score of 36 in all bands of the exam.
  • provide a valid skills assessment from Engineering Education Australia
Benefit of PY program for GSM

Applicants who successfully complete this course are eligible for 5 migration points for all points test visas. They also become professional members of Engineers Australia.

This program is available in Adelaide, Brisbane,Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Duration

A unique 44 week work –readiness program with 32 weeks in class training followed by a 12 weeks internship placement. It will be a combination of extensive training with practical experience.
