Accounting PYP is a professional year program developed and offered by CPA Australia, ICA (Institute of Chartered Accountants) and IPA (Institute of Public Accountants). It aims at assisting overseas accounting graduates with the necessary practical and communication skills to further enhance their job readiness and expand their professional network.
Eligibility requirements
You must have:
- a recognized accounting degree with a minimum of 2 years of credit points. This course must have been completed over a minimum duration of 3 years (18 months).
- applied for or hold a 485 Temporary graduate visa ( valid for a minimum of 12 months)
- demonstrated proficiency in English with an overall IELTS score of 6 and a minimum score of 6 in all 4 components or a minimum score of 50 in PTE (academic).
- a valid skill assessment from a professional accounting association.
Benefit of PY program for GSM
Participants who successfully complete this program may be eligible for 5 extra points towards skilled migration further improving their chances of permanent residency in Australia. They are allowed to study or train upto three months in total but they cannot work in Australia.

The PY program runs for 44 weeks (32 weeks in class training followed by a 12 weeks internship placement).
