Eligibility for the Temporary Protection Visa Subclass 785
Applicants for this visa:
must not be able to apply validly for a Permanent Protection visa (subclass 866)
must not have held Temporary Protection visa (subclass 785)/Temporary Safe Haven visa (subclass 449)/Temporary (Humanitarian Concern) visa (subclass 786)/Safe Haven Enterprise visa (subclass 790)
must have been refused immigration clearance at Australia’s border, or entered Australia illegally
must be a refugee or engage Australia’s complementary protection criteria
must meet the necessary identity requirements and be able to provide documents as evidence of their identity, nationality or citizenship with their application if asked.
must not be barred from lodging a protection visa application
meet the relevant character and health requirements
